Venezuela government

Venezuela is a federal republic; which consists of 5 branches which are the executive, legislative, judiciary, electoral, and citizen. A federal republic is a type of government where the power of the central government is distributed to the sovereign power where the voters chose their representatives. Hugo Chavez is the current president; he has been president since 1999. Last year he made a popular vote so that he can be the president indefinitely. Venezuela gets their money from the exports of their oil reserves. Venezuela has some of the largest oil and natural gas reserves in the world. The country's main petroleum is located around Lake Maracaibo and in the Gulf of Venezuela.
